It has been a week and a day since I have landed back in the U.S.A., back in Ameerricahh. Being back made me realized how much I miss home and my family but at the same time, I do miss Europe a lot. I miss my life and routine and how things function there. Life at home seems so much slower and quiet. I don’t wake up hearing czech, no more sights of trams, metros, or 18th century buildings. Since I’ve been home, I have gotten my fast food cravings out of the way. Been to Bojangles, Cook- Out, and Chick- fil-a. Now that my fixed is fulfilled, I want to go back to Praha. (long sighhhhhh) It is impossible to be in two places at once isn’t? I will soon return, just not in my plans right now.
Some things to look forward to…Summer Session I begins next Monday. I am not excited to wake up early at 7 o’clock in the morning to catch that Southeast Loop bus. I am excited though to move into my new place and start being in Raleigh. There will be enough people there this summer for me to hang out with. I am looking to picnics by the Bell tower, laying out by the pool, bike rides in the afternoons, and just collecting myself again for the real world, that I left behind 3 months ago.
Currently at the airport about to broad my the plane and thinking how 3 months in Praha have gone by so quickly. Time flew by. It was very sad leaving. Even though I am looking forward to going home to my family and friends and sort of NCSU campus, I still feel like I am leaving something that is good; and that I should just stay here forever. Guess we all have to return back to the real world at some point. Being over here has been such a wonderful experience. Many great times with friends and self discoveries. The city is beautiful to wonder around all day long or be lost in. I love all the buildings, metros, trams, clubs, bars, and many other things. I am going to always remember this experience and miss it a lot. Such a bittersweet ending. But all good things come to and end and new great things will begin.
Petrin Hill is the place to be once spring time comes around. It is like a big park/hill that you can walk or take the furnicular up to the top. If you do want to wonder to the top of the hill, there will be an Observation Tower. The Observation Tower is a small version of the Eiffel Tower in Paris. You can go all the way to the top of the Observation Tower to see Praha from above.
When spring comes, I recommend going to Petrin to see all the cherry blossoms blooming. You should also pack a picnic and bring a blanket for a picnic when it is sunny and nice out. It is such a beautiful atmosphere to come and relax with friends.
